This project aims at Enhancing Capacity in Natural Resource Management and Conflict Resolution for Stability and Growth in the Greater Virunga Landscape, and involves research and high learning institutions operating within the Greater Virunga Landscape.

According to Dr. Robert Bitariho, the ITFC Director, his institution was in dire need of a new vehicle for its research and field excursion activities, including the Hydrological monitoring of the water sources in the GVL. He confirmed that this vehicle is a very important investment and expressed his gratitude to the 3C project through GVTC.

Dr. Andrew G. Seguya pointed out that the project objective is to ensure regional and coordinated development and provision of education, training and research services in Natural Resources Management, that contributes to the resolution of regional conflict dynamics and inclusive growth in the Great Lakes Region.

He reiterated that the purchase and hand over of specific equipment such as this vehicle and other office equipment, including a computer, is part of the project’s investment budget and aims at ensuring the sustainability of the project achievements even beyond the project’s lifetime.

He reiterated his wish for appropriate care of the handed over equipment so that these can serve adequately to the needs of the institution and its continual development.
He finally expressed his gratitude to Nuffic through the 3C Project, for this important investment and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in General for its continuous support to the GVTC and its partners in conserving the Greater Virunga Landscape.
