A deeper understanding is highly need since conservationists and stakeholders want to search for sustainable solutions to Human-Wild life conflicts affecting conservation of protected areas. Moreover, the objectives of this workshop allowed participants to reflect on research ethics while linking academic research to the formulation of the formulation of policy recommendations and the creation of a community of critical scholars in the region working on conservation and conflict.
Professor Gedefroid Muzalia and Dr Esther Marijen, respectively from GEC-SH/ ISP-Bukavu (DRC) and Ghent University were the key-speakers of the workshop, facilitated by Fidele Ruzigandekwe, the GVTC Deputy Executive Secretary in charge of Programs, as the moderator.
